Technology of the Future: Western Digital Announces MAMR for Next Generation HDDs

At a special event at Western Digital Headquarters, company president and COO Mike Cordano and team, presented WDC’s strategy to address the challenge of bringing down the cost of mass storage to solve the world’s need to store and extract value from ever expanding “Big Data”. Western Digital’s leadership in this space extends from the introduction of the first helium sealed drive, incorporating technology to maximize storage density and capacity, to a breakthrough in next-generation “energy assisted” recording technology, which will define the hard disk drive for many generations.
